Julia Barretto airs out frustration over Bea Alonzo

"That is downright bullying."

This is the bold statement of Julia Barretto, 22, against fellow ABS-CBN star Bea Alonzo, 31.

This is part of Julia's response to the couple's breakup, Bea and Gerald Anderson, 30.

Julia is the alleged third party in the breakup of the two. Julia for the first time broke her silence on the issue through an official statement she shared on Instagram this Tuesday night, August 6.

Including an old photo of the two of them — where Julia was a child while Bea was a teenager — Julia revealed her thoughts. Julia begins her statement by saying that she is deeply affected by the criticism she receives.

She declared, “These past weeks, my faith, my patience, and my strength were put to the test.

“I have endured many harsh words hurled against me and my family everywhere on social media.

“It is exhausting and painful.

“While some might have forgotten, I am also human.”

Julia has since responded to two accusations made against her. 

First, she allegedly betrayed ex-boyfriend Joshua Garcia, 21. Secondly, she became the third party in the breakup of Bea and Gerald.

Julia said:“I was attacked for two issues: 1. I cheated on my boyfriend. 2. I was the cause of another relationship’s break up.”

“Let’s be clear: Josh and I had broken up four months ago.

“We have publicly admitted it together and we have cleared that there was no third-party involved.”

She declared, “From now on, anything I do in my private and love life is not considered as cheating, and is none of anyone’s business.”

The Kapamilya actress also defend herself that she had nothing to do with Bea and Gerald's breakup.

“Secondly, I believe Gerald has already made it clear that a third party was not the cause of their break up.

“I would like to disassociate myself from the break up of Bea and Gerald. Their issues are entirely their own,” Julia explained.

On June 28, 2019, in an interview with ABS-CBN entertainment reporter MJ Felipe, Julia and Joshua said they had decided to return to being "bestest friends."

The two in the interview did not directly mention that they broke up. In the same interview Julia explicitly denied the issue that Gerald had something to do with them.

Julia's post doesn't end there. Subsequently, she released a shocking statement against Bea. 

Julia said, “However, since I was brought into this mess without a choice, this is what I have to say."

Julia directly pointed out to Bea for publicizing her breakup with Gerald.

“Your heartbreak should have been a private matter, but you have selfishly turned it into something of national concern.”

Julia stated, Bea's intentions have been to discredit her in a way that doesn't even mention her name.

“Bea, you wanted to keep your hands clean by not mentioning me in your controversial post, but with a click of your finger, in your sly way, you have charged everybody to destroy me FOR YOU.

“You have encouraged a culture of hate by purposely liking harmless photos, putting malice into the minds of many, which resulted in the outrage of insults against me.”

Julia is referring to Bea's liking of paparazzi shots of Julia and Gerald posted by a netizen on July 21, 2019. In her Instagram post, Julia also openly accused Bea of bullying. 

She declared, “You are a woman of great influence and following.

“You could have used that power to promote strength and grace in women, but instead, you’ve used that to promote social media irresponsibility.

“That is downright bullying.”

Julia added, “You can play victim all you want, but I refuse to be your victim.”

In the last part of her post, Julia said that this is not enough to express the frustration on how much she had gone through the issue.

“This post is not enough to sum up everything I went through. I took the time to step back and take a look at the situation that I am in.

“It is so hard to be human in this industry but I still have every intention to stay in this business that I love so much.

“For the longest time, I’ve always dealt with everything in silence, but this time, I am forced to grow up.

“I will not be sidetracked, derailed, and be dictated by people’s judgments and opinions of me."

Julia's final message: “This is me setting myself free and getting my soul back.”
